This course and the 10-Step Manual are based on the requirements in the DAR Genealogy Guidelines, primarily Part 2. When requirements are mentioned and more in-depth information is available in the guidelines, the abbreviation of GG for Genealogy Guidelines, Part 2 or 3, and what page number will be noted (GG2 47) so that you may quickly reference that specific information if you would like to read more.
The Genealogy Guidelines are available online in the Members Section of the DAR website and are linked below for convenience. You may open and save them to your computer and print them. Once saved, you can search topics easily within all the text of a guideline by using “Command +F” (Mac) or “Ctrl +F” (Windows PC).
To access the DAR Genealogy Guidelines click the button to be taken to the login page to access the Members Section of the DAR website. Once logged in, you will be brought to a page where you can click on the red and blue boxes to access the guidelines and other resources. Once you open the guidelines, you may save them to your computer.
